China and curio cabinets might not be as popular as they once were, but we still need places to display our “treasures”.  Enter bookcases, etageres and floating shelves to fill the bill.

If you’ve seen some of my recent before and afters, you may have noticed one of my recent favorites, the “Essential Emmy Bookcase” from Steinhafels Furniture, in several of them.

These painted finish, arched cabinets with stained back panels come in three different colors and are a great bang for the buck.  Steinhafels’ current price as of this writing is $719.99.  (I’ve seen them elsewhere online for twice the price!)

Providing both display space on top and enclosed storage underneath, they are win-win solution for a multitude of spaces.  So far, I’ve used them in both living and office spaces but could easily see these working in a kids bedroom or a nursery as well.  Note:  these are not lit and do not have pre-drilled access holes for any type of wiring.

Steinhafels.com describes the Essential Emmy Bookcase as: “Made of Mahogany solids and veneers, this collection features a fixed top shelf and 2 adjustable shelves below for display as well as storage doors for extra storage.”

Measuring 84″ tall, 36″ wide and 18″ deep, a pair of these bookcases (or even a stand-alone piece) helps anchor a space and provides a beautiful and functional focal point in any room.  For these reasons and the price, the Essential Emmy Bookcase from Steinhafels is one of Jeff’s Favorite Finds.
