It’s always a treat when we have the opportunity to work with clients more than once.  Whether it’s been a while and time for another update or they’ve been doing things in stages, it’s nice to reconnect and see how things have evolved since we last worked together.  This year, we’ve had just such an opportunity, completing a second round of work for clients in nearby, Lake in the Hills.

If you read this post from 2021, you’ll remember us helping this same family, shortly after they had moved into their new home.

During our first project together, we focused on the main living areas of the home (living room, dining room, family room, kitchen and a home office).  The owners were so happy with how things turned out, they invited us back, this year, to help finish the second floor.  The upstairs project included:

  • A complete update of the Owner’s Bedroom
  • Restyling & adding finishing touches in their son & daughter’s bedrooms
  • Transforming an unused bedroom into an “office” for the kids
  • and “Funning up” the hall bath for the kids

Decorating, whether done by a homeowner or professional, is a process and takes time.  Raising small children and working full-time jobs, finding spare time to decorate can be even more challenging.  Our homeowner summed it up perfectly.  She said, doing it herself would’ve meant spending so much time & money, going back and forth, buying and returning, to get things right.  It made more sense and was far easier to hire a professional to take the frustration and guesswork out of the mix.  We’re glad they thought of us once again.

After several months planning and sourcing, prepping, painting & waiting for furniture, we were ready to pull it all together.

These Before & After pics show the transformation we were able to accomplish in the various spaces:

Being invited back to work with former clients is the highest compliment.   It’s also an opportunity to build off of previous successes without the uncertainty many homeowners feel when working with a decorator for the first time.

Returning to help with finishing touches in their upstairs spaces was like putting the cherry on the ice cream sundae we’d already scooped.  The entire family, kids included, are as happy this time around with the “delicious” results.  And, so are we!
